Our Attorneys
Nancy G. Rubin
Nancy has been practicing family law exclusively for the past 32 years—the last 30 of which have been in her office in the Parkside District of San Francisco. She is thrilled that her daughter, Monica, has joined her in what she considers to be a dynamic and fulfilling area of the law.
Over the years, Nancy has had the honor of helping hundreds of families through difficult times. She has been gratified to see how her advice and guidance have improved the lives of her clients and their children and families.
Before attending Hastings College of the Law, Nancy graduated Magna Cum Laude from San Francisco State University, where she majored in Psychology and Women’s Studies. Originally from New York, Nancy came to “visit” San Francisco in 1975 and, after 24 hours here, decided to make San Francisco her home.
Nancy enjoys reading, films, hiking, traveling and exploring the Bay Area with her family and friends.
In addition to her membership in the California State Bar, Nancy is also a member of the Family Law Section of the San Francisco Bar Association. She also taught Family Law for paralegals at City College of San Francisco, where she attended before transferring to San Francisco State University.
Monica J. Levavi
Monica became an attorney in 2010. However, for the seven years prior to attending law school, Monica worked as a legal assistant in her mother’s, Nancy’s, solo family law practice. It was during that time that Monica realized her ability to assist the law practice’s clients would be greatly enhanced if she became an attorney, as well.
In addition to handling complex divorce, child custody and support matters, Monica frequently represents clients in Domestic Violence Restraining Order cases. She also trained to be a family law mediator and has volunteered for the San Francisco Bar Association as an attorney/mediator with self-represented litigants.
When not in the office, Monica spends her free time kickboxing, walking on Ocean Beach, and enjoying the sights, sounds and restaurants of her beloved hometown of San Francisco.
